It is good to have some days left over from the annual vacation, and this time I had three days to use in December. An excellent opportunity to explore a new place.
Although I have visited New York, and in particular Manhattan, twice before, both visits were for work. The limited time available to explore New York left me with only a brief recollection of a visit to the Statue of Liberty, and the extensive collection of information at the Ellis Island Museum, which lasted for more than half a day. This time, I planned my days around the weekend to maximize my time.
We found a nice hotel in the Financial district, but it might be better for younger people. The weather was exceptional, with only 5–6 hours of rain on Sunday, and that allowed us to see many things. One thing I was not expecting was the queues. Everywhere! Which means that most museums were left for future visits.
We even got the chance to check out a New York Milonga and have a couple of tandas with some locals. Until the next trip…
