My partner and I went to the Adršpach Rocks in October of last year. She never fails to pick fantastic destinations for quick getaways, most of which require at least a little bit of trekking. In this case, the rule held true.
The Adršpach Rocks are located a little over two hours from Prague, making them an ideal destination for a weekend getaway. We actually departed on Thursday late afternoon, the 27th of October, taking advantage of the fact that the following day, the 28th, is a public holiday in the Czech Republic. The height of the rocks gives you a sense of the might of nature, and the panorama is truly breathtaking. Among the interesting views, a man-made lake up high where logs were once transported by lumberjacks.
I can't even begin to express how much I appreciated this vacation, despite the fact that my legs were aching for a couple of days afterward. Still, it was well worth it, and it's definitely on my list of recommended activities for anybody visiting the Czech Republic.
